Kiyohana is the brainchild of two friends: Paul Zwolinski and Odiseo Viveros.

Paul is a hairdresser with years of experience. When he opened his own salon, he only wanted to sell quality products. But while he was happy with the renowned brands he had on his shelves, his frustration grew. Many formulas promised miracles, but were full of chemicals like silicones, parabens, and microplastics.

Odiseo, with extensive experience in graphic and user experience design, was looking for a product for his own curls that combined luxury and nature, but never found exactly what he needed. He understood Paul's frustration and came up with an idea: why not start our own brand?

During a joint trip to Japan, Paul and Odiseo discovered a philosophy that felt like coming home: reverence for nature, an eye for detail, and the realisation that beauty lies in simplicity. Whether in the bustling streets of Tokyo or the serene forests near Kyoto, they saw how the Japanese approach almost everything with care and attention.

The name Kiyohana is a combination of two Japanese characters (kanji): kiyo, meaning pure, clear, and clean; and hana, meaning flower. Together, they form kiyohana: pure flower. The two characters reflect the essence of the brand: products that showcase the pure quality of natural ingredients.

Paul and Odiseo started small, experimenting, testing, and refining until they found the right formulas. The range is now growing. Each product embodies the balance between the performance a professional hairdresser like Paul demands and the gentle care Odiseo sought for his own hair.

From Haarlem to Tokyo, from the hairdresser's chair to the bathroom at home: Kiyohana brings pure, natural luxury to everyday life.
